Warner OCG

To Our Warner Community,

This time of year is bittersweet. On one hand, we have the holiday break coming up! However, on the other hand, we have students who go home to NO HEAT, NO FOOD, NO WARM WINTER GEAR, and NO HOLIDAY CHEER. An increasing number of students at Warner receive free or reduced lunch during the school year; and therefore, they will not be able to eat lunch for the week and a half we are off for the break. We see students each day coming to school in a sweatshirt in the FREEZING cold weather because they are unable to buy a winter coat or boots. Regardless of their situation, our 9-, 10-, and 11- year-old students never complain. They come to school each day eager to work. But they need YOUR help.

This year, we will be kicking off our annual “Operation Common Good” fundraiser. Over the past several years, Warner students, families and staff have made contributions exceeding over $60,000.00 for families living in poverty and/or homelessness. The families we have identified as in need of our support are from right here in our Warner community. Homelessness and poverty are not isolated, and exist right here in Farmington Hills.

  • GIFT OF GIVING  ***GREAT FOR TEACHER GIFTS*** Giving the gift of a donation to Operation Common Good is a thoughtful way to honor someone. It is a great opportunity to acknowledge a special friend, family member, or colleague. For a tax-deductible donation of $15 (minimum) or more, you will be able to make a donation on behalf of someone special, and then give the Gift of Giving with a custom made card to the person you designate in the Gift of Giving form:  https://operationcommongood.wiki.farmington.k12.mi.us/Gift+of+Giving  The card announces the gift, explains about this wonderful program, and shares how their gift will help change the lives of the children in our community. Please return this completed form with your donation to the Main Office at Warner Upper Elementary School with your Warner Viking addressed to ELYSE JAHNKE.

  • GENERAL DONATIONS:  The majority of our OCG donations typically come from general donations.  You may donate in the following ways:

Every penny raised will help a kid in Farmington, including our very own Warner Vikings.

And... if we reach our goal of $10,000, the staff will be dressing up in a retro 70's day! (And the kids can, too!)

Please help our fellow Vikings here at Warner Upper Elementary and children around Farmington Public Schools who are HUNGRY, HOMELESS, or in need of HELP during the holiday season. You can make a donation to OPERATION COMMON GOOD at https://ocg.nationbuilder.com/donate. Donations are tax deductible.

Your support means more than you could ever know. Your donation WILL change lives.
